Description
The California Department of State Hospitals is soliciting a lump-sum A General Engineering Contractor to demolish and remove the existing West Perimeter Vehicle Bridge at DSH Patton and construct a new operational vehicle bridge. The work includes ADA-compliant warning curbs, bridge span construction, concrete paving and approach transitions, earthwork and grading, erosion control, temporary traffic and access control, utility coordination and relocation or protection of existing water lines, site restoration, and related incidental work. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, permits, prevailing-wage labor, insurance, bonds, and other resources required by the drawings, specifications, and addenda. Utility shutdowns require at least 72 hours' advance notice and generally may not exceed four hours. The project requires a California A General Engineering Contractor license, mandatory bidder's conference attendance for prime bidders, compliance with California Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements and incentive provisions, prevailing-wage and Department of Industrial Relations requirements, and payment and performance bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. Bids must be submitted on a lump-sum basis using the project-specific Bid Package forms and delivered sealed by mail or by appointment-only hand delivery. Addendum No. 3 changes the bid deadline to October 27, 2026, and the public bid opening to October 28, 2026.
