Description
The City of Boise Public Works Department is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from experienced Design-Build teams for investigation, design, permitting, preconstruction, construction, and closeout services to abate dangerous building conditions at the historic Union Block Building. The work includes structural stabilization, shoring, bracing, masonry and facade repairs, weatherproofing, life-safety measures, temporary protection, and measures to restore affected sidewalk, parking, travel-lane, and alley access. The selected team must provide qualified design professionals, contractors, and specialty consultants; perform field investigations and engineering analyses; prepare construction documents, cost estimates, schedules, and permit submissions; coordinate with permitting, transportation, utility, and historic-preservation authorities; and complete the authorized construction work. The project is intended as a limited dangerous-condition abatement effort rather than comprehensive rehabilitation or preparation for occupancy. The City estimates an overall project budget of approximately $2.8 million, with an anticipated duration of approximately 12–18 months from notice to proceed and a goal of beginning construction in 2027. Statements of Qualifications are limited to 40 pages, excluding the signature page, cover letter, appendices, and City-provided forms.
