Description
The Great Lakes Water Authority is seeking an experienced Michigan-based contractor to provide labor, materials, equipment, and personnel for corrective maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of personnel doors, equipment doors, frames, hardware, fire doors, roof hatches, and related safety components at various water-treatment facilities. The scope includes demolition, debris removal, frame and surface repairs, painting and caulking, installation, asset tagging, shop drawings, warranty follow-up, and emergency response. Door systems include hollow metal, fiber-reinforced polymer, stainless steel, aluminum, and associated sidelights, transoms, equipment hatches, and skylight openings. Required hardware includes locks, hinges, cores, closers, handles, panic bars, weather stripping, thresholds, sills, stops, kickplates, and electric strikes. Related electrical, masonry, painting, and carpentry work may also be required. The contract term is three years. Services are generally performed Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with 24/7/365 availability for emergency repairs and a 24-hour emergency response requirement. Vendors must demonstrate at least five years of comparable experience, provide three references covering comparable services within the past ten years, supply all necessary resources, and nominate subcontractors or state that they will self-perform applicable work. The solicitation is evaluated on lowest cost among responsive and responsible vendors. A bid bond of 5% of the bid price, a performance bond of 100% of the contract price, and a payment bond of 100% of the contract price are identified in the solicitation; the performance and payment bonds are post-award requirements.
