Description
The City of Grand Rapids is requesting proposals from qualified insurance agents or firms to serve as its insurance advisor and broker. Services include soliciting and negotiating property and liability insurance, analyzing commercial insurance and self-insurance options, recommending risk-financing strategies, reviewing policies and coverage gaps, issuing certificates and binders, supporting renewals, and advising on insurance requirements for City contracts and facilities. The selected firm will also provide risk management consulting, training, loss analysis, actuarial coordination, loss control and engineering support, claims and coverage consultation, and assistance with third-party administrator selection when needed. The proposer must be licensed in Michigan, maintain annual premium volume exceeding $5 million, provide in-house loss control and engineering services, and demonstrate recent Agent of Record experience for at least three comparable governmental or public-sector entities. The proposal must include an all-inclusive annual flat fee and disclose other compensation. The anticipated initial term is one year with two one-year renewal options.
