Description
Saranac Community Schools is soliciting proposals for snow removal services at Saranac High School, Saranac Elementary School, and the Saranac Central Office. The scope includes plowing driveways, parking lots, blacktop areas, and entranceways; applying salt when conditions warrant or when requested; hand shoveling; and properly stockpiling snow to minimize parking-space loss. Snow removal must generally be completed by 6:30 a.m. at the schools and by 7:30 a.m. at the Central Office, with delayed service permitted until 10:00 a.m. on called snow days when students and staff are absent. Contractors must avoid using power equipment within 200 feet of students and must repair property damage caused by plowing operations. Bidders may submit pricing by individual zone or for all sites combined. Proposals must include qualifications, years in business, staff experience, two current-customer references for similar services, and descriptions of the equipment and vehicles to be used. The contract is for one year and may be renewed for up to two additional years by mutual agreement. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, employer's liability, commercial general liability, and automobile liability, with specified minimum limits and the Schools named as an additional insured on the general liability policy.
