Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service seeks a contractor to remove an existing wood-fired boiler and replace an LP-gas boiler with a new 150,000 BTU, cast-iron, natural-draft unit. Work includes connecting and updating boiler piping and trim, replacing pneumatic controls with electronic zone valves and low-voltage thermostats, removing the compressor and pneumatic controls, and installing a voltage monitor. The contractor must dispose of removed equipment, test the completed system, and provide the new equipment, its owner’s manual and warranty information, and staff training. The contractor must visit the site, assess existing conditions, and provide a summary of findings and recommendations. The solicitation anticipates a two-month performance period, subject to suitable weather and equipment lead times. Proposals are evaluated on the project schedule, past performance involving three similar projects completed or in progress within the previous five years, and price; non-price factors account for 51% of the proposed value.
