Description
The City of Flint is soliciting a time-and-materials proposal to rehabilitate the east right gate hoist assembly at Thread Creek Dam. The work includes removal and replacement of the hoist operator, 1.5 HP brake motor, gearbox, couplings, main shaft, pinion gears, spherical roller bearings, and torque-limit switches; installation of an updated control panel supporting local, automated, and remote operation; wiring, conduit modifications, controls programming, integration, startup, and testing; and restoration of deteriorated concrete foundations, anchor bolts, grout, and related structural supports. The contractor must provide field inspection, rigging and lifting, alignment of shafts and gears, operational testing under load, and commissioning. Proposals must include time-and-materials labor and equipment rates, material markup, schedule estimates, relevant experience on at least three similar projects completed within the last ten years, and a not-to-exceed total. Required project deliverables include shop drawings, equipment data sheets, fabrication details, control-panel drawings, installation and alignment records, startup and testing documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and warranty information. A minimum one-year warranty is required. A mandatory onsite pre-bid conference and site visit are required before submitting a proposal.
