Description
The City of Gainesville is soliciting proposals from qualified attorneys to serve as hearing magistrates for quasi-judicial hearings related to violations of the City Code of Ordinances. The selected attorneys will be responsible for conducting these hearings and issuing orders in accordance with Chapter 2, Article V, Division 8 of the City Code of Ordinances. The scope of work includes adequate preparation for each hearing by reviewing provided materials and applicable codes, conducting hearings, and issuing written orders that include findings of fact and conclusions of law. Hearings are scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month, with potential for additional hearings if case volume requires. These hearings will be held at the City Hall Auditorium. The Special Magistrate will have the same status, jurisdiction, and authority as the Code Enforcement Board. Interested parties must submit proposals through the City's OpenGov.com platform. Key dates include the RFP release on June 15, 2026, a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting via Zoom on June 26, 2026, a question submission deadline of July 6, 2026, and the proposal submission deadline of July 13, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. ET.
