Description
The City of Berkley is soliciting proposals from qualified engineering firms for preliminary engineering design and funding assistance for a proposed 3R rehabilitation of Coolidge Highway from 11 Mile Road to Webster Road. The selected firm will administer the project through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Local Agency Programs (LAP) unit and adhere to National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) regulations. Key project objectives include asphalt rehabilitation, curb and gutter replacement, drainage upgrades, integration of traffic calming measures, installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs), corridor traffic signal enhancements, streetscape improvements, water main and service line replacements, and stormwater improvements. The scope of services includes a kickoff meeting, existing conditions and data gathering, public participation and stakeholder engagement, preliminary engineering with conceptual designs, preferred concept development, and funding application preparation.
