Description
The University of Kansas Medical Center is requesting campus-wide fire and life safety services covering portable fire extinguishers, emergency and exit lighting, backflow preventers, fire pumps, dry pipe and pre-action systems, antifreeze systems, private fire hydrants, fire department connections, special-hazard suppression systems, kitchen hood suppression systems, and VESDA aspirating smoke detection systems. The scope includes routine inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, recharge, hydrostatic testing, deficiency reporting, emergency response, service documentation, and compliance with applicable NFPA, OSHA, and Kansas Fire Marshal requirements. A separately priced, severable scope covers annual preventive maintenance for 11 UPS and stationary battery units. The contract is for one base year with four additional one-year renewal options. Proposals must include the completed cost worksheet, signed RFQ guidelines page, certificate of insurance, technician certification roster and documentation, three recent similar-contract references, and the signed Contractor Acknowledgment page for the life safety protocol standard. All work must be performed on the medical center premises, including occupied healthcare, research, and academic environments, with required response-time, reporting, and emergency-service capabilities.
