Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, requires six complete Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting fire suppression systems for integration into separately procured vehicles intended for Antarctic operations. Each system must provide wet-agent and dry-chemical firefighting capability, include at least 400 gallons of wet-agent capacity, and operate in extreme cold, including ambient operation to -40°F and cold storage to -60°F. No water may be stored in or dispersed by the equipment. The requirement also includes initial wet and dry firefighting agents, one nitrogen gas generator, spare parts, non-standard tools, manuals, warranty, and product support. The contractor must deliver the equipment to a designated CONUS integration facility and provide installation and integration support, engineering coordination, drawings and interface data, operability testing, training, shipping, and travel. The quotation must identify the proposed system configuration and demonstrate technical compliance, provide up to three recent and relevant comparable-equipment projects, submit firm-fixed prices for all contract line items, and provide an estimated production and delivery schedule. Award will be based on technical capability, comparable equipment experience, and price, with technical capability being the most important factor.
