Description
Metropolitan Community College is soliciting a one-time purchase of a new Okuma M460-VE vertical machining center and a production-ready robotic machine-tending solution. The scope includes the machine, automation and robotic tending hardware and software, robot-side controls, end-of-arm tooling and grippers, pneumatics, integration components, CNC and robot programming, engineering, safety evaluation, workholding integration, installation, commissioning, startup, testing, documentation, and training for operators, maintenance personnel, and technical support staff. The bid requires detailed technical and pricing information, relevant CNC machine-tending experience, at least three relevant references completed within the last five years, a technical approach, assumptions and exceptions, project schedule, warranty and return information, and detailed manufacturer, parts, service, and equipment literature. The machine must meet extensive specifications, including a minimum 15,000 RPM spindle, 32-tool changer, 200 PSI through-spindle coolant, Renishaw probing and gauging equipment, chip management, enclosed safety-interlocked construction, robotic machine-tending compatibility, and a two-year machine warranty. Delivery and installation are required by March 15, 2027.
