Description
Lee County, Virginia is soliciting proposals from qualified firms or individuals to redesign and develop its public website. The scope includes a new user-focused design and navigation structure, department-specific pages, content management system options, migration and indexing of existing content and files, responsive desktop/tablet/mobile functionality, browser compatibility, search engine optimization, and advanced search across web pages and PDF documents. The Constitutional Officers' websites and the Lee County Economic Development Authority website are excluded and will remain separate sites linked from the county website. The selected proposer will work with the county on hosting, provide initial staff training for an internal content management system, and describe ongoing project management, development, help desk support, and training. Proposals must include relevant experience, references from at least five counties or municipalities with similar completed projects, preferably including at least two Virginia references, assigned staff resumes, a project contact, estimated turnaround time, completion timeline, and a milestone-based payment schedule. Optional services may be proposed separately with estimated costs. The county's estimate is $15,000 to $20,000, but the source states this is an independent estimate rather than a county-stated budget; hosting and ongoing support should be priced separately. Subcontractors must be identified in the original proposal and accepted by the county.
