Description
Letcher County is seeking an experienced contractor to stabilize approximately 785 linear feet of streambank across four Beetree Branch sites. The work includes furnishing, assembling, and installing twisted-mesh gabions and one-foot Reno gabion mattresses with Class II rock riprap, Class I nonwoven geotextile, and No. 2 stone backfill where required. The scope also includes excavation, rockfill, Class III rock riprap, pollution and sediment control, stream dewatering, traffic control, seeding and mulching, mobilization and demobilization, and contractor quality control. Bids are unit-price and all-inclusive. The project must be completed no later than December 31, 2026. A bid bond or certified check of at least 5% of the contract amount is required with the bid, and a 100% performance bond is required before work begins. The solicitation prohibits welded-mesh gabions and requires the use of Maccaferri PoliMac or equivalent twisted-mesh wire gabions.
