The Town of Searsport seeks qualified consultants to evaluate nature-based solutions for shoreline stability and protect three vulnerable waterfront sites: Mosman Park and two municipally owned sewage pump stations. The selected consultant will assess risks from coastal erosion, flooding, sea-level rise, and severe storms; prepare vulnerability assessments; develop conceptual nature-based or hybrid shoreline stabilization designs; produce cost estimates; and recommend implementation strategies aligned with Maine climate-resilience goals. The scope also includes collaboration on community outreach, educational workshops for coastal property owners, and a public presentation of findings. The Town encourages multidisciplinary teams with expertise in coastal resilience, engineering, planning, and landscape architecture. Proposals will be evaluated on qualifications, understanding of the project issues, methodology, responsiveness, and cost.
