Description
The City of Providence Department of Public Works is soliciting qualified contractors to provide on-call heavy snow clearing, snow hauling and disposal, snowbank removal, roadway widening, and related winter emergency services. Work may include clearing intersections, cul-de-sacs, bridges, municipal facilities, parking lots, sidewalks, emergency facilities, schools, transit routes, utility infrastructure, and other City-owned property. Contractors must furnish the required labor, supervision, operators, equipment, fuel, maintenance, transportation, communications, materials, and incidental services, and must maintain 24/7 emergency response capability with specified response times. The City intends to establish a pool of one or more contractors, with work authorized through task orders and no guaranteed minimum quantity or contract value. Bidders must submit equipment availability, standby, operating, snow hauling, disposal, and mobilization/demobilization pricing, along with an equipment inventory and commitment form and contractor qualification statement. The initial term runs from November 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027, with up to two additional one-year renewal terms. At bid submission, the package must include the required bidder forms, certifications, applicable MBE/WBE participation or waiver forms, and a formal proposal/packet; insurance and good-standing documentation are requested only after award if requested by the issuing department.
