Description
This Sources Sought notice concerns the Tybee Island Shoreline Protection Project, a planned civil works construction effort involving periodic placement of compatible beach-quality sand along up to approximately 14,900 feet of shoreline. The anticipated work includes offshore dredging, hydraulic transport and placement of sand, beach grading, environmental compliance, beach tilling, and related incidental work. Up to approximately 1,500,000 cubic yards would be dredged from an approved offshore borrow area located approximately 8,000 to 20,000 feet from the project area. The Government anticipates that performance will require a cutter suction dredge and associated plant capable of dredging at approximately -16 feet MLLW and completing the work during an anticipated 90-calendar-day construction period. Respondents are asked to describe equipment capability, production capacity, mobilization requirements, availability, comparable projects completed within the past ten years, small-business dredging compliance where applicable, bonding capacity, and technical or schedule concerns. This notice is for market research and acquisition planning only and is not a solicitation or commitment to award a contract.
