Description
The U.S. Air Force is seeking information from potential sources capable of providing next-generation Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC) outboard motors for the Guardian Angel personnel recovery mission. The requirement calls for two motors for user assessment and 91 motors for full operational capability. The motors should improve speed, maneuverability, reliability, seaworthiness, and adverse-weather performance compared with the existing 40-horsepower fleet while retaining or improving air-delivery and legacy-CRRC compatibility. Key requirements include a preferred power level of at least 55 horsepower, operation on mixed gasoline, survivability after air deployment, one-person operation, manual backup starting, operation after storage from -30°F to 120°F, a maximum weight of 220 pounds excluding fuel equipment, subdued non-reflective coloring, ASTM B117 saltwater corrosion resistance, emergency tools, compatibility with legacy fuel bladders and CRRC transoms, and applicable national-security import and emissions compliance. Respondents must provide company and capability information, technical specifications, supporting test or product materials, rough-order-of-magnitude pricing, development and integration estimates, warranty and spare-parts information, training details, risks, and subcontracting or small-business-utilization information. Responses are limited to 15 pages including the cover page.
