Description
The City seeks an independent contractor to provide advanced and basic life support ambulance response and transportation for people in Eastpointe, including emergency and as-needed service. The contractor must provide appropriately licensed and staffed ambulances, maintain ambulance-service accreditation, meet specified response-time standards, coordinate dispatch and medical control, and provide quarterly response-time and patient-satisfaction reporting. The scope also includes non-emergency transportation, patient care and blood draws when requested, and community preparedness training. The contractor must maintain required licenses, insurance, equipment, operational oversight, and an operating site in Macomb County. The proposal requirements include information about the operating site, patient-handling equipment, vehicle telematics and video, safety performance, leadership and clinical oversight, EMS system improvement initiatives, community training, and workforce development. The proposed contract begins January 1, 2027, runs through December 31, 2029, and may be renewed for up to two additional two-year periods.
