Description
The California Department of Veterans Affairs seeks contractors to provide on-demand, non-emergency ground ambulance transportation for residents of a veterans home. Services include basic life support during transport, bariatric transport using specially equipped ambulances and gurneys, and scheduled appointment trips with wait-and-return service. The contractor must provide appropriately licensed paramedics or EMTs, meet specified response-time and on-time performance standards, and maintain 24/7 availability. The scope also includes required ambulance staffing and equipment, transport reporting, and compliance with applicable licensing, safety, confidentiality, and health-care requirements. The solicitation anticipates multiple awards, with up to three agreements per service classification. Bidders must submit rates for the listed service categories using the provided rate sheet. The agreement term is scheduled to run from December 1, 2026, or upon Department of General Services approval, through November 30, 2029. Subcontractors may be used, and the solicitation has no DVBE subcontractor participation goal, though DVBE participation incentives and small-business preferences apply.
