Description
Louisiana State University is soliciting bids for an as-needed term contract covering ambulance and emergency medical services for athletics, university events, and certain non-university special events. Required services include EMT Basic personnel, paramedics with gear, fully staffed and equipped ambulance units, medical supplies, helicopter services, call-out administration, and coverage for football, basketball, gymnastics, baseball, softball, soccer, swimming, volleyball, tennis, golf, track and field, cross country, postseason events, practices, concerts, and other special events. The contractor must maintain applicable emergency medical services licenses and certificates, provide an 800 number for transport requests, coordinate event medical staffing and emergency response, and provide specified on-site coverage, including ambulance units, medical personnel, trauma-center support, defibrillators, radios, and helicopter capability. Helicopter services require a twin-engine aircraft staffed by a pilot, flight registered nurse, and flight paramedic; fixed-wing services must also be available when required. The solicitation states that all items will be awarded on an all-or-none basis to the lowest responsive and responsible supplier, with estimated quantities that do not guarantee usage.
