Description
Macomb County Department of Roads is soliciting bids for Phase II of a traffic signal modernization project involving three intersections and 24 crossovers. The work includes replacing diagonal span configurations with box span wire configurations and replacing span wire or mast-arm configurations with mast-arm systems, along with traffic signal heads, pedestrian signals, cabinets, controllers, mast arms, poles, foundations, street-name signs, detection equipment, wireless interconnects, video surveillance, and related removals and relocations. The project also includes installation, splicing, testing, and documentation of single-mode fiber-optic communications; ATC controllers and cabinets; radar and video detection; roadside units; wireless radios; traffic control; turf establishment; system integration; and 14-day burn-in periods for operational components. Bidders must be prequalified by the Michigan Department of Transportation in the required classifications and rating, including ITS installation and electrical work. A bid bond of at least 5% of the total bid is required, and performance and lien bonds equal to 100% of the total contract price are required. The project has interim completion requirements for specified crossovers and intersections and must be fully completed by November 15, 2028.
