Description
Douglas County, Nebraska, is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide Third Party Administrator (TPA) services for its Workers' Compensation Claims processing. The selected vendor will be responsible for all aspects of claims management, including medical management, claims administration, intake services, and loss control. The county typically experiences approximately 150 new injuries per year, with a mix of lost time, medical-only, and no-treatment cases. The contract will be for an initial three-year period, with the option for Douglas County to extend for an additional two one-year terms. The vendor will be required to work closely with the county's managed care plan and legal counsel to manage claims, monitor injured employees' recovery, and facilitate their return to work. Vendors must demonstrate comprehensive claims management capabilities, including initial processing, investigation, medical management, litigation management, and robust reporting. Key requirements include maintaining a drug-free workplace, using a federal immigration verification system for new employees working in Nebraska, and certifying that neither the vendor nor its principals are debarred or suspended from Federal contracts. The vendor must also provide at least three professional references and will be responsible for all contractual services offered.
