Description
Wayne County Public Schools is soliciting a quote for a 30-by-60-foot single-bay greenhouse at Charles B. Aycock High School. The greenhouse must be engineered for current North Carolina wind-zone requirements and include engineer-stamped plans before construction. Required features include 8mm twin-wall polycarbonate covering, exhaust fans, rack-and-pinion ventilation, evaporative cooling, a 200,000 BTU LP-gas unit heater, horizontal airflow fans, environmental controls, two single-entry doors, emergency lighting and exit signs, a fire extinguisher, hanging-basket rails, shade cloth, continuous metal benches, and an irrigation/fertilizer injection and control system. The contractor must include delivery, electrical and plumbing work, heater connections, permits, 811 coordination, and completed installation. The foundation and utility installation will be coordinated jointly by the manufacturer and buyer. Bidders must be current members of the National Greenhouse Manufacturers Association and authorized dealers for products quoted. Installation is required by May 30, 2027, and the selected contractor must provide liability insurance documentation to the district.
