Beaufort County Community College is seeking a single-prime general contractor to construct a new 6,258-square-foot, one-story Type IIB building. The scope includes site clearing and earthwork; foundations and concrete; masonry; structural steel, steel joists, and metal decking; rough carpentry; roofing and wall panels; doors, windows, glazing, finishes, signage, toilet compartments, accessories, fire extinguishers, canopies, and countertops. The work also includes complete plumbing, HVAC, building automation and controls, electrical, telecommunications, fire alarm, paving, sidewalks, utilities, drainage, and related site improvements. The base bid is lump sum, with preferred alternates for a Fire-Lite fire alarm system and Corbin-Russwin door hardware. The project requires a 5% bid security, 100% performance and payment bonds, North Carolina Building Contractor—Unlimited licensing, insurance, minority-business participation documentation, and compliance with the project’s special inspection, testing, commissioning, closeout, and training requirements. The stated base-bid construction duration is 270 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
