Description
The City of Tybee Island is soliciting proposals to furnish and install a fully functional solar array on the approximately 40-by-80-foot flat roof of the Tybee Island Marine Science Center at 37 Meddin Drive. The system must provide at least 42 kW of output, use solar panels rated at least 400 watts each, include SMA Sunny Boy string inverters where required, and use UL-certified photovoltaic modules and inverters. The specifications identify Q CELLS modules manufactured in the United States, SunPower Helix ST single-tilt panels or an approved equal, and the OMG Power Grip System Plus mounting system, with GAF certification and roof-warranty coordination required. The contractor must provide roof inspections and warranty-amendment coordination, structural and electrical tie-in work, disconnects and switches, grounding and cabling, production monitoring, annual generation estimates, drawings, permits and approvals support, delivery and installation schedules, and a one-year system and component warranty. Proposals must include a lump-sum price, personnel resumes, at least three references for similar systems in marine environments, project descriptions, and requested product documentation. The solicitation requires a 5% proposal surety; 100% performance and payment bonds are required before contract execution.
