Description
Sam Houston State University is seeking one or more qualified contractors to provide as-needed electrical services at various university locations under a unit-price contract. The scope includes inside and outside electrical work; interior and exterior lighting; power wiring; emergency power; parking-lot lighting; power-line construction; underground power and data distribution; substations; street and highway lighting; communications and signal controls; and integrated systems such as communication, data, and fiber-optic cabling, security and life-safety systems, and building automation controls. Contractors must provide required labor, equipment, coordination, permits, and licensing, with work performed by appropriately certified and licensed electricians. The contract is expected to run from award through August 31, 2027, with up to four additional one-year renewal options, for a maximum duration of five years. The project cost will not exceed $2,000,000, although the University guarantees no minimum spending and will pay only for services used. The pricing sheet requires rates for master electricians, journeyman electricians, electrician helpers, registered communications distribution designers, and general laborers, including regular, half-hour, overtime, and Sunday double-overtime rates. Proposals must address pricing, company and staffing information, safety and quality-control programs, relevant experience, references, insurance, the HUB Subcontracting Plan, the Execution of Offer, and applicable contract terms.
