Description
The City of Ames is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to supply fuel for the Ames Transit Agency and Fleet Services Department. The contract will cover the period from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The solicitation requires vendors to supply #1 Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel, #2 Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel, B5-B20 biodiesel blends, and B100 biodiesel. Pricing for fuels and biodiesel additive will be based on the Des Moines Terminal Average Fuel Prices (rack), plus any cost over/under the rack average provided by the bidder. Deliveries will be accepted Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, with advance notification required. Vendors must provide a list of at least three clients for similar services within the past two years if unknown to the City. The Ames City Council has established a Local Consideration Program, applying a 1% local consideration to acceptable bids from businesses located within Ames city limits that pay commercial property tax.
