Description
The City of Huntsville is soliciting construction services for the Beaverdam Creek Sanitary Sewer Extension, Project No. 71-26-SP17. The work includes approximately 7,850 linear feet of 24-inch gravity sewer, 10-inch force-main connections, 30-inch HDPE sanitary sewer, service lines, precast concrete manholes, sewer abandonment, and related utility work. It also includes approximately 1,575 linear feet of minimum 60-inch steel liner plate tunneling beneath wetlands, erosion control, storm drainage, traffic control, asphalt paving, fence removal, and restoration. The City will furnish certain 24-inch ductile-iron pipe; the contractor must provide labor, equipment, incidentals, and other specified materials. Bidders must attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting to be eligible to submit a bid and must hold the required Alabama general contractor license classification of Highways & Streets or Municipal & Utility. Bids require two signed hard copies of the proposal, the completed City bid quantities in Excel format on a working thumb/flash drive, a bid bond of at least 5% capped at $10,000, addenda acknowledgment, subcontractor listing, at least five similar-project references, the City report of ownership form, and other specified compliance documents. The awarded contractor must provide 100% payment and performance bonds. The contract time is 360 calendar days, and the contractor must perform at least 30% of the total contract cost with its own organization.
