NASA's Technology Transfer Program is soliciting inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market a new solid-state system that separates oxygen from ambient air and compresses the resulting purified oxygen. The technology, developed by innovators at NASA Johnson Space Center in collaboration with American Oxygen, uses a solid oxide electrochemical oxygen separation and compression technique. It operates at high temperatures to maximize efficiency and incorporates an embedded heat exchanger to preheat incoming air using system waste heat, significantly reducing power consumption compared to prior systems. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. Interested parties should submit a license application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) at the provided URL.
