Description
The City of Huntsville is soliciting sealed bids for full signalized intersection improvements south of Drake Avenue and north of Airport Road along U.S. Highway 231, Project No. 71-25-SP21. The work includes pavement milling and asphalt paving; excavation, aggregate base, curbs, gutters, slope paving, barriers, topsoil, sod, erosion-control measures, signage, pavement markings, pavement markers, and temporary traffic control; and installation of traffic signal infrastructure, including poles, mast arms, foundations, conduit, junction boxes, signal heads, controller assembly, electrical power service, and a radar detection system at Stadium Commons. Landscaping, irrigation, light-pole relocation, and related traffic-control work are also included. Bidders must submit unit prices for the listed quantities, with prices including labor, equipment, materials, and removals. The estimated total base bid is $140,000, including stated allowances. The selected contractor must complete the work within 180 calendar days, maintain required Alabama and City of Huntsville licenses, provide a bid bond, and comply with specified insurance, bonding, subcontractor, immigration, domestic-preference, and environmental requirements.
