NASA's Technology Transfer Program is soliciting inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market a novel technology developed at Ames Research Center. This technology enables a spacecraft to be launched as a secondary payload into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) and, through a series of maneuvers, reach lunar orbit. The method allows for a relatively small, controllable spacecraft to share a ride with a larger primary spacecraft, with no constraints on launch time or lunar orbit inclination. Key advantages include a maximum lunar transfer duration of less than three months, which is less than half the time required for a Sun-Earth weak-stability boundary transfer, and simplicity and consistency of design. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. Interested parties should submit a license application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) at https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/TOP2-272.
