NASA's Technology Transfer Program is soliciting inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market a new technology: a universal wireless access point or 'gateway' that integrates wireless sensors with existing aircraft systems. The gateway can be reprogrammed to communicate with any wireless device, enabling engineers to add new sensing technology 'at the speed of software.' It is platform- and implementation-agnostic, with potential applications in connected logistics, predictive maintenance, asset tracking, and other industrial Internet-of-Things uses. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. Interested parties must submit a license application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) at https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/DRC-TOPS-42.
