Description
The Mississippi State Department of Health is soliciting applications from eligible public or private, non-federal entities to serve as Local Implementing Agencies for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program. Selected organizations will provide voluntary, evidence-based Parents as Teachers services in one or more designated service areas covering 16 Mississippi counties. The scope includes personal visits, group connections, child and caregiver screenings, referrals, family engagement, community partnerships, staffing and supervision, data collection through Visit Tracker, continuous quality improvement, reporting, and fiscal administration. Applicants must demonstrate relevant maternal and child health, early childhood, home visiting, family support, healthcare, or related experience; organizational and financial capacity; eligibility to receive federal funds; and current or planned Parents as Teachers affiliation. The anticipated two-year subgrant period runs from December 1, 2026, through September 29, 2028. Up to $6,000,000 is anticipated for multiple awards, although funding and award amounts are not guaranteed. Applications require organizational information, eligibility certifications, experience narratives, a work plan, staffing and service-delivery approach, community partnership and CQI information, and detailed two-year budgets and budget narratives.
