Description
The City of Jackson's Infrastructure Management Division, within the Department of Public Works, is soliciting bids for a 24-month contract for asphalt pavement milling. The contractor must furnish all labor and equipment, mill designated streets approximately 1.5 inches at the gutter face with a gradual fade toward the center line, collect and clean up the milled material, and deliver it to the City's maintenance facility. The estimated quantity is approximately 1,000 tons, with pricing submitted per ton; the City may add or delete streets without changing the unit price. Services must comply with the Mississippi Department of Transportation's Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, and the contractor must begin work within two weeks after receiving notice that services are needed. The City will provide traffic control. The contract is fixed-term, ending November 30, 2028, with commencement upon governing-authority approval. Bidders must provide or demonstrate the ability to obtain at least $1,000,000 in insurance coverage, and the awarded contractor must comply with performance and payment bond requirements before contract execution. The award will be made to the lowest-priced responsive and responsible bidder meeting the minimum requirements.
