Description
The New York State Office of Children and Family Services is soliciting one qualified Special Education Teacher, either directly or through an organization, to provide comprehensive in-person services for students in grades 7–12 at the OCFS-operated MacCormick Secure Center. The teacher will provide instruction and classroom support; develop and maintain IEPs and 504 plans; prepare referrals and participate in CSE, FBA, and BIP activities; maintain special education records; conduct evaluations when requested; communicate with parents; and supervise teacher aides. An organization bidder must name the proposed teacher and have at least three years of experience providing teaching staff to government, public, or educational institutions. Subcontracting is prohibited. The proposed teacher must have a bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education, valid New York State special education certification covering grades 7–12, legal authorization to work in the United States, and a resume documenting all positions held during the last five years. The position requires 37.5 hours per week of on-site service, Monday through Friday, including 184 regular school days and up to 35 optional summer days.
