Description
The City of Syracuse Department of Public Works is soliciting contractors to supplement municipal snow-removal operations by plowing one or more of five residential snow districts. The scope includes furnishing six-wheel dump trucks or approved equivalents, ten-foot plows, ballast, chains, fuel, maintenance, insurance, and fully licensed CDL Class B drivers. Vehicles must meet specified registration, weight, equipment, condition, and inspection requirements, and must be equipped with City-supplied GPS systems where applicable. Contractors must maintain 24/7 availability from November through April, mobilize within two hours of notification, perform assigned routes to the City's satisfaction, and provide a supervisor and plow-equipped pickup capability for cleanup work. Subcontracting is prohibited. The contract term is two years beginning November 1, 2026, with a possible one-year extension. Bidders must provide $500 bid security, current vehicle registrations, and required proposal responses; the City guarantees a minimum seasonal payment of $6,000 per awarded route, subject to the contract terms.
