Description
Apollon Group LLC, the general contractor, is seeking a subcontractor for demolition and replacement of existing masonry walls in two stairwells, identified as Staircases C and D, at M485 LaGuardia High School. The work covers approximately 12,000 square feet and includes installation of new glazed cement blocks; the general contractor will provide the glazed blocks and permits, while the subcontractor must provide labor, tools, system scaffolding, protection, and daily cleanup. The subcontractor must be a PLA/union contractor, provide SCA masonry labor, and be approved by the New York City School Construction Authority for the applicable demolition, masonry, and installation codes. Proposals must price labor, rates, and each work item separately, including an optional price for one staircase. The subcontractor must also provide a two-week-ahead schedule, daily logs and reports, and weekly payroll reflecting union rates. A broker letter demonstrating bonding capacity for a performance bond ranging from $450,000 to $2,000,000 is required.
