Description
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction seeks vendors to process USDA-donated commodities into finished foods for school meal programs. Products include egg, cheese, vegetable, potato, fruit, beef, and poultry items such as omelets, burritos, sauces, potatoes, fruit cups, and breaded chicken. Vendors must provide product specifications and nutrition and child-nutrition crediting documentation, and pricing must include delivery to locations within Washington. The estimated initial contract value is capped at $3 million per awarded contract, with no guaranteed minimum purchases. The initial contract period is scheduled for July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2028, with up to four additional contract years at the agency’s discretion. Vendors must meet USDA processing approval requirements, provide samples for evaluation when requested, and attend the specified annual food show if awarded. Proposals are evaluated on price, taste and appearance, sodium levels, product specifications, and an optional PCB-related preference.
