Description
The City of Aurora's Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department is seeking professional consulting services to support its pursuit of National Recreation and Park Association accreditation through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies. The selected consultant will provide technical writing and project management support, including a compliance gap analysis, master checklist and tracking system, document requests and repository development, policy and procedure review, evidence-of-compliance collection, narrative drafting, formatting and quality control, and preparation of the 10-section Self-Assessment Report for submission through the CAPRA Portal. The work is organized into six phases running from anticipated commencement on November 18, 2026, through approximately May 1, 2029. Major deliverables include completion of the gap analysis and accreditation infrastructure, 50% and 100% completion of the Self-Assessment Report, technical review and internal approvals, portal submission by December 31, 2028, and preparation for the subsequent onsite CAPRA visit. The consultant may also provide related technical writing for policies, procedures, reports, memoranda, and other professional documentation. Work may be performed virtually or in person as needed, with an anticipated workload of approximately 35 hours per week over a 50-week annual schedule. The estimated annual appropriation is $130,000 for each of calendar years 2027 and 2028; this is informational and not a guaranteed expenditure.
