Description
The City of Aurora is soliciting bids for the Inspiration Trail Connection project. The work includes demolition and tree removal; site preparation and grading; erosion and sediment control; construction of approximately 920 linear feet of new concrete trail; installation of a new curb ramp; concrete paving, signage, native seeding, traffic control, construction fencing, and related restoration. The project also includes reconstruction of portions of an existing trail and associated drainage, utility protection, surveying, and stormwater-management measures. The estimated project cost is $400,000 to $430,000. Work must be completed within 90 calendar days plus 10 calendar days for mobilization after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must submit the prescribed bid forms, bid sheet, and bid bond; the bid bond must be at least 5% of the bid. The selected contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and required insurance. The solicitation requires proven experience with similar playground and concrete-flatwork projects completed within the last three years, including at least three references for material suppliers and similar projects. Subcontracted work is generally limited to 50% of the total work, and the project includes a 10% Small Business Enterprise participation objective for qualifying large businesses that subcontract.
