Description
The City of Dallas is seeking Statements of Qualifications from civil engineering firms to provide construction management, engineering, inspection, materials testing, and special inspection services for two projects associated with the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas. Project A focuses on piers, pier caps, foundation slabs, and columns; Project B focuses on steel structures and elevated slabs. Both include associated roadway work and special inspections. One consultant will be selected for each project, and a firm may submit for both but cannot be selected for both. Services may cover pre-construction review, construction management and inspection, quality assurance, materials testing, and post-construction closeout. The solicitation emphasizes extensive testing and special inspection capabilities for foundations, concrete, structural steel and welding, fire protection, building envelope, and related construction elements. The procurement is the first step of a two-step qualifications and proposal process; shortlisted firms may be invited to submit proposals. The stated $3 billion construction estimate is informational and is not the contract amount; the delivery-order contract's not-to-exceed amount will be negotiated.
