The Town of Woodland has received a Community Development Block Grant - Infrastructure (CDBG-I) award of $3,000,000 from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for rehabilitation and replacement of aging equipment at its wastewater treatment plant located at 414 Jameson Avenue, Woodland, NC 27897. The plant's equipment is over 40 years old. The scope includes replacing existing vertical turbine pumps in the chlorine contact chamber, discharge piping, and the chlorine feed system. The pump control and spray field irrigation panel will be replaced with a PLC-based control panel, replacing the antiquated relay-based system. The existing flow meter to the spray field will be replaced with newer technology, along with control valve arrangements and spray head piping. Additionally, a standby emergency backup generator and automatic transfer switch will be installed.
