Description
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for two aluminum structures for Beaufort County bridge maintenance: a 45-foot aluminum box culvert with welded aluminum structural plate headwalls and a 45-foot aluminum structural plate pipe arch with welded headwalls. The structures must comply with applicable AASHTO requirements and the North Carolina Department of Transportation's 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, including HL-93 loading and headwall surcharge design requirements. Required materials include hardware, gaskets, tieback rods, anchors, lugs, inserts, turnbuckles, geogrid, and other incidentals. The vendor must fabricate the structures for shipment within 30 calendar days after receiving a purchase order, deliver them to the specified locations, and perform final assembly within one working day of agreed assembly dates. The vendor or subcontractor must provide assembly oversight and necessary hand and power tools. Structures must be inspected and approved by the department, and the vendor must be an authorized manufacturer, dealer, reseller, or distributor. The solicitation is for a one-time purchase and requires electronic submission through the state's electronic Vendor Portal.
