Description
The City of Seattle is soliciting bids for a qualified vendor to provide a continuous, as-needed supply of swimming pool treatment chemicals and related water-testing supplies. Products include sodium hypochlorite, calcium hypochlorite, sodium dichlor, bromine tablets, sodium thiosulfate, cyanuric acid, sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, muriatic acid, algaecide, filter cleaner, clarifying products, Taylor test kits, and associated testing reagents. Bidders must price all items on the bid form and may propose approved equals where permitted. The vendor must deliver products to City-designated swimming pools, wading pools, spray parks, and fountains throughout Seattle. Deliveries generally must occur within seven calendar days of an order, with pool-facility deliveries arriving before noon unless otherwise arranged; routine orders require a stated seven-business-day response time, and same-day availability is required for frequently ordered items. The vendor must provide safety data sheets with deliveries, maintain required hazardous-material handling and transportation licenses, comply with applicable Washington Department of Health, DOT, OSHA, and hazardous-material requirements, provide basic technical assistance, maintain adequate inventory, and manage spill response responsibilities. The contract term is five years with one optional two-year extension, and estimated utilization is $250,000 annually, without a guaranteed purchase volume.
