Description
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Water Supply, intends to award a sole-source agreement for the as-needed supply and delivery of Purate solution containing 40% sodium chlorate and 8% hydrogen peroxide. Purate is used to generate chlorine dioxide for biofilm removal, pretreatment, and oxidation of soluble manganese and iron in the water supply system. The product must comply with ANSI/NSF Standard 60 and specified chemical, purity, testing, and certification requirements. The contractor must deliver bulk quantities by dedicated tank truck to the Ashokan Screen Chamber in Olivebridge, New York, and the New Croton Reservoir Gatehouse in Yorktown Heights, New York, with possible delivery to other agency locations. The scope includes transportation and supply planning, emergency spill response, delivery documentation, certified weight tickets, safety and security procedures, trained drivers, personal protective equipment, and cleanup or replacement of rejected or contaminated product. The contract is for three years, with an agency option to renew for an additional two years. The posting states that firms believing they are authorized sources may submit an expression of interest.
