Description
The City of Alexandria Fire Department is soliciting an annual contract for NFPA-compliant structural firefighting turnout gear and related accessories. The required items include coats, pants, boots, helmets, particulate hoods, gauntlet-style gloves, lettering patches, and lettering. Products must be new, current manufacture, meet the specified NFPA standards, and include applicable manufacturer testing, labeling, ISO 9001 certification, and warranties. The contract covers individual items ordered on an as-needed basis, with no quantities stated or guaranteed. The successful vendor must be a factory-authorized distributor, provide product literature and warranty statements, perform personnel sizing as needed at a designated fire station, and deliver within 60 days after receipt of order. Pricing is requested for a 12-month base period, with a possible additional 12-month renewal. Bidders must submit the complete amended bid packet, including all specification responses and price pages, and document bona fide efforts to secure qualifying minority and disadvantaged subcontractors under the City's AFEAT program.
