Description
The Florida Forest Service is soliciting bids from a qualified beef producer to lease 616 acres in Charles H. Bronson State Forest for cattle grazing. The current stocking rate is 75 allowable animal units, and the bidder must provide a firm, fixed annual price per animal unit. The lease is for cattle grazing only and includes requirements for fencing, pasture and herd management, invasive-species treatment, environmental stewardship, and compliance with Florida Cow/Calf Best Management Practices. The submission must demonstrate the required beef-production experience and qualifications, include at least three verifiable reference letters, provide a five-year Grazing and Land Stewardship Plan addressing pasture, herd, invasive-species, fencing and infrastructure management, and complete the attached Bid Submission Form. Attendance at the mandatory site visit is required. The agreement has a five-year base term with one optional five-year renewal; the lessee must maintain specified commercial general liability and automobile liability insurance and is responsible for maintaining fencing and managing invasive plants.
