Description
Mariposa County Sheriff's Office seeks qualified ranch owners, agricultural operators, livestock facilities, and other property owners to provide temporary emergency shelter for horses, livestock, and other large animals displaced by wildfires, floods, severe weather, evacuations, hazardous-material incidents, infrastructure failures, or other emergencies. The selected facility or facilities must provide adequate acreage; secure livestock-suitable perimeter fencing and containment areas; shade or shelter; reliable livestock-appropriate water; and safe access for livestock trailers and emergency vehicles. Proposers must describe the property, ownership or operation, capacity, fencing, shelter and shade, water systems, trailer and emergency-vehicle access, animal containment, emergency activation procedures, power and communications, security, insurance, permits and regulatory compliance, pricing, references, photographs, and a site map or aerial photograph. The County may conduct an on-site inspection and may award multiple contracts. The anticipated initial term is three years, with possible emergency extensions when an active disaster or evacuation continues beyond the original occupancy period.
