Description
The City seeks two contractors to maintain, repair, install, splice, test, and modernize its fiber optic network supporting information technology, traffic, and water operations. Work includes scheduled services and emergency repairs, fiber construction and pulling, conduit and pull-box work, field engineering and design, and associated materials. Critical fiber outages have response priorities ranging from two to eight hours, depending on priority. Contractors must provide emergency-response capabilities, qualified personnel and equipment, and required testing, documentation, and as-built records. The pricing sheet requests scheduled and emergency unit prices, including labor, splicing, construction, design, trenching, and boring rates; materials are billed at cost plus a proposed markup capped at 10%. The City intends to award to two highest-ranked respondents, with the second serving as a secondary contractor. The initial term is 12 months with four optional 12-month renewals; estimated annual expenditures for both contracts combined are $800,000, with no guaranteed minimum work.
